Builder's sketch: where the beams can go, the stair to the deck and the toilet roof

ev-121 · sketch · 2026-09-19 · Extracted

What this records

THE FIRST REPORT OF HOW MUCH GROUND THERE ACTUALLY IS across the shelf. He was sent to find where the beams can physically stand and says they could be up to 2.60 m apart at all four stations, inside about 3 m. The design uses 1.600 and wants to keep it — the joists cantilever past the beams and that overhang is what keeps them light — so this is headroom rather than a change. It bears on a-18 and a-25, which have had one measured point between them since August. It also gives an approximate height or length for the toilet roof, consistent with the model either way, and a support base at the foot of the stair at 120 x 30 against the 140 x 35 we have drawn.

Owner: the ground at the deck corner is solid and pick-diggable, so the pads can go where they are drawn

ev-122 · survey · 2026-09-19 · Extracted

What this records

The first direct observation of the ground the deck's eight pads sit in: solid, and a pick will break it. It narrows a-24 from both ends — the material is competent and the hand-digging is feasible — without closing it, because nobody dug a hole and there is still no depth to competent ground and no bearing test. It also confirms the pads can stay where the setting-out table puts them, which matters more than it sounds, because ev-121 proposes a different spacing.

Owner: the pits are dug and stand, the toilet walls are sound, and the shelf never drops more than 100 below the wall line

ev-123 · survey · 2026-09-19 · Extracted

What this records

Closes a-24 and a-23 and substantially closes a-25. The pits are dug: nothing soft below and the sides stand, which is what the uplift case needed since it counts on side shear. The outside toilet's walls are one course of breezeblock and sound to build on, so the walkway beam bears on them as drawn and the span-past fallback is dropped. The shelf never falls more than 100 mm below the wall line and mainly rises, corroborating ev-117#r01 along the whole run. What it does NOT give is a level at the four rear column positions, which is what the rear column lengths are ordered from.
